Advice centre

The Dementia Advice Centre is a service for people living in Newcastle upon TYne looking for effective, coordinated support or information about living with dementia

Designed to fill a gap in community-led services as a point of access for people who have been  diagnosed with different types of  dementia, as well as the family members, carers, partners or friend of those effected by dementia. The Dementia Advice Centre is a joint venture between not-for-profit organisations, Dementia Matters and Search.

Where are we?

Based at The Bradbury Centre within  Dementia Matters the Dementia Advice Centre is open for people and professionals  to access in a timely and responsive manner a range of dementia specific services, from information and advice on financial benefits and entitlements, home support, day care and respite/residential services, to specialist clinical support  from the dedicated on-site Lead Admiral Nurse.

Funded by The Ballinger Charitable Trust, the innovative Centre comprises a dedicated reception area, a hot-desk area for ‘drop-in’ advisers, an informal discussion area as well as two confidential consultation rooms for private conversations with our dedicated advice team.

COVID-19

Due to COVID -19  The Dementia Advice Centre Team, is  unable to carry out normal face to face activities.  Currently  in place is various options of online and telephone dementia specialist support  to help answer your questions, process referrals and enquiries relating to dementia for people under and over  the age of 65.
