As we move further into the unknown, and the number of cases of Covid-19 increase across the UK, we at Dementia Matters have made a commitment to try and keep our services accessible for as long as possible; allowing those who need our support the most the chance to access our services at this worrying and confusing time

How will the money help?

By donating to the cause you will allow us to keep services running as we may require staff to work longer shifts or even live at the Bradbury Centre for a period. The cost of both keeping our services going and keeping those at-risk safe is huge on a small charity like ours and other cost burdens will inevitably increase.

Whereas many businesses are temporarily closing or asking staff to work from home we, and especially our front-line staff, are staying at work to provide needed care to some of the most vulnerable. This will come at a cost to staff both in terms of their wellbeing and also financially.

We need an initial £10,000 to keep these services running

At Dementia Matters we value the contribution our staff make and in their time of need we want to be for them, as we have been for over 25 years for our service users. We are, therefore, seeking to crowdfund an initial £10,000 which will be used in the first instance to offer a backstop of financial support if our staff need us. From then we will use the monies to continue with the work of the charity, so that all in the Dementia Matters family and the people who use our services, their carers’ and families can continue to benefit from their huge commitment.

We are reaching out to the public in order to help us to keep making a difference to those who need our services and our support and also our frontline staff, who are undoubtably going to be at risk.

Its times such as these we must stick together and help those who need it the most. By offering what you can as a donation you can help keep our much-needed services active so those with Dementia, their families and carers can still go about their lives in a normal way.
