Current Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteering can be a great way to enhance your skills, give back to your local community and do something that helps you feel good! Whether you can give a couple of hours a week or one day a month, you can make a huge difference by volunteering some of your time with Dementia Matters.

Take a look at some of our volunteering opportunities below, and get in touch if any sound like something you'd like to get involved with!

Reception Volunteers

Our Volunteer Receptionists are the first point of contact for anyone visiting our building in Brunswick Village. Your role is to meet and greet visitors, alert the necessary person to their arrival and to support our Admin team with answering and directing phone calls.

This is a fantastic role for someone bubbly and outgoing, who feels comfortable being in a public-facing position.

Administration Volunteers

Our Volunteer Administrators are instrumental in helping our busy teams keep organised. It could be through filing, data entry, photocopying, helping prepare application packs or service brochures.

Varied and interesting, this is a great role for someone with good organisational skills!

Activities Volunteers

Our Activity Volunteers help out in Day Service and Residential to support our service users to engage in activities they enjoy. It could be helping someone to take part in an arts and crafts project, partnering with someone in some gentle chair based exercise or in one of our quizzes!

Befriender Volunteers

Our befrienders are wonderful volunteers who spend one-to-one time with our service users in Day Service and Residential. You'll get to know the person you're volunteering with and be able to help them carry out their favourite hobbies, whether it be putting together a jigsaw or talking about football. Everyone has a story to tell; who will you get to know?

Gardening Volunteers

We're incredibly lucky to have a beautiful garden at the Bradbury Centre - not so lucky in that it takes quite a lot to keep it maintained!

If you've got green fingers and would like to help us keep on top of general garden maintenance, we'd love to hear from you.

Painting Volunteers

Every now and then, our services would benefit from a bit of a makeover! We're always looking for volunteers willing to give up a few hours on an evening or weekend to help us spruce up The Bradbury Centre and apply a fresh coat of paint!

If this is something you'd like to get involved with, get in touch and we'll add you to our list of Painting Heroes!
