Dementia Matters to open new Day Centre in Cramlington.

Following the success of 25 years helping families living with dementia, Dementia Matters have announced they are opening a new day centre in the heart of Cramlington, expanding on the great work they already do at the current day centre in Brunswick Village.

The centre will support families from Cramlington, Ashington, Morpeth and Blyth, and will enable Dementia Matters to support more than 200 people both directly and indirectly.

The day service will offer an innovative sensory room; home cooked meals full of nutrition, activities such as chair based exercising, day trips to local and historical attractions, specialised gaming to provoke the memory senses, cognitive stimulation therapies, nostalgic activities revisiting the fashion forward 40’s The Rocking 50’s, The Swinging 60’s, The groovy 70’s, right up to present day.

There will also be secure gardens, a fitness suite and so much more on site. Specially trained staff, supported by our Admiral Nurses, will help support service users throughout the day to feel stimulated, involved and valued, as well as safe a secure in an environment where you will never feel judged or lost. We will be with you and support you all the way.

The Day care centre in Cramlington will serve an area where we know there’s significant demand for such services. With 25 years of experience in dementia, we know that the new Cramlington centre will be a huge success”.

The new day service will open its doors with a grand opening day in October 2019, and will be open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Everybody will be welcome to pop along and have a look at the wonderful facilities that are on offer, and to meet Dementia Matters’ specialist team.
