Peer Support Offer for people living with Early On-set Dementia

Dementia Matters are hoping to develop an online Peer Support Group for people living with early onset dementia (diagnosed before the age of 65). Working with the Memory Assessment Service MAMS, they are currently consulting people diagnosed with early onset and their carers. If there is sufficient interest they will start regular on-line support sessions in September.

These sessions will be organised via Zoom with a view to moving to a face to face support meetings once the COVID19 restrictions allow.

The new Peer Support Group will offer

  • Friendship – the chance to meet others living with young onset dementia
  • Support- talk to staff from Dementia Matters about the things that would make life better
  • Social events and activities
